Terry Kinney is an American actor and theatre director, as well as a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company with Gary Sinise and Jeff Perry. He is best known for his role as Emerald City creator Tim McManus on HBO's prison drama, Oz. Other television credits include Hal on Showtime’s Billions, Gerald Kozko on CBS’ The Good Wife, Sam Bosco on CBS’ The Mentalist, Steve Woodman on ABC’s Thirtysomething, and Peter Smith in the HBO miniseries, Show Me a Hero.
Theatre credits include his Broadway debut as Jim Casy in The Grapes of Wrath (Cort Theatre), Tilden in Buried Child and Father Barry in On the Waterfront (Brooks Atkinson Theatre); Off-Broadway, as Paul in Loose Ends (McGinn-Cazale Theatre), Treat in Orphans (Westside Theatre), and Fick/Dopey/Others in Balm in Gilead (Circle Repertory); and regionally, as Murphy in The Indian Wants the Bronx (Steppenwolf Theatre).
