Bob Carroll Jr. was a radio and television writer, best known for his work on the TV series I Love Lucy, which he and his writing partner, Madelyn Pugh Davis, wrote together with head writer Jess Oppenheimer and co-writers Bob Schiller and Bob Weiskopf. Carroll and his co-writers received two Emmy nominations for I Love Lucy.
Carroll and Pugh Davis also wrote episodes of Lucille Ball's subsequent series, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, and Life With Lucy. They created the television series The Mothers-in-Law and served as executive producers for the hit series Alice, for which they won a Golden Globe.
Carroll co-authored Madelyn Pugh Davis's memoir, Laughing with Lucy. The pair won the Writers' Guild of America Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television Achievement.
