He is best known for The Harimaya Bridge, America's Dream, and The Color Purple. Other film credits include Repo Chick, Daddy's Little Girls, Blue Demon, Falling Like This, They Crawl, Midnight Blue, 3 Strikes, The Tuskegee Airmen, Champion Killer, Open Fire, Walker, Maid to Order, and The Kindred.
