Michael Cristofer

Michael Cristofer is an American playwright, filmmaker, and actor. He received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play as writer of The Shadow Box (Morosco Theatre). Other Broadway credits include his debut as Trofimov/Petr Sergeyevich in The Cherry Orchard (Vivian Beaumont Theatre); Claudius in Hamlet (Criterion Stage Right); and Alfieri in A View From the Bridge (Cort Theatre). Other theater credits include Don't Go Gentle (MCC Theater); Captors (Huntington Theatre); and The Three Sisters (Williamstown Theatre). 

Film credits include Year by the Sea, Chronic, The Girl in the Book, The Other Woman, The Little Drummer Girl, An Enemy of the People, The Entertainer, The Last of Mrs. Lincoln, and Crime Club. 

Television credits include Philip Price on USA's Mr. Robot, Harrison Renard on American Horror Story, Jerry Rand on NBC's Smash, and Truxton Spangler on AMC's Rubicon, as well as John Nicolay in the miniseries, Lincoln.
