The dignified mother of a ruthless African dictator travels to England to seek treatment for her failed eyes from a renowned ophthalmologist in Lee Blessing’s play. At first glance, it looks merely like one woman helping another, but as each woman brings to the other her true agenda, it triggers a profound moral and political dilemma.
Original music by Michael Roth.
Recorded before a live audience at the Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles in March of 2003.
