Ruth Gordon was an American film, stage, and television actress, as well as screenwriter and playwright. She is best known for her work on the films Harold and Maude, Rosie, The Actress, Pat and Mike, The Marrying Kind, Adam’s Rib, A Double Life, and Over 21.
Television writing credits include CBS’ The DuPont Show of the Month, NBC’s The Alcoa Hour, and CBS’ The Ford Theatre Hour.
Theatre credits include her Broadway produced works Over 21 (Music Box Theatre), Years Ago (Mansfield Theatre), The Leading Lady (National Theatre), and A Very Rich Woman (Belasco Theatre) and her regionally produced work Ho, Ho, Ho (Berkshire Theatre).
Gordon also wrote the memoirs My Side, Myself Among Others, and An Open Book.
