Christopher Trumbo

Christopher Trumbo was an American television writer, screenwriter and playwright. Trumbo was considered an expert on blacklisting in Hollywood during the McCarthy era, as his father, Dalton, was blacklisted for refusing to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Using his father’s personal letters, Trumbo told his father’s story in the plays Trumbo: Red, White and Blacklisted and Additional Dialogue: An Evening with Dalton Trumbo.

Christopher collaborated with Peter Askin to create the film, Trumbo, also based on Dalton Trumbo's letters. Other screenwriting credits include BranniganThe Don Is Dead and Ishi: The Last of His Tribe.

Christopher wrote extensively for television, most notably, NBC's Ironside, CBS' Falcon Crest, NBC's Quincy M.E. and Showtime's Naked City.

Christopher was frequently interviewed about the Hollywood blacklist and appeared in several documentaries on the subject. He was working on a memoir/history of the blacklist at the time of his death.
