Elaine Stritch

Elaine Stritch was a three-time Emmy Award-winning American actress and singer, best known for her work on Broadway, where she debuted as Pamela Brewster in Loco (Biltmore Theatre). Other Broadway theatre credits include Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music (Walter Kerr Theatre); Parthy Ann Hawks in Show Boat (Gershwin Theatre); Joanne in Company (Alvin Theatre); Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe? (Billy Rose Theatre); Melba Snyder in Pal Joey (Broadhurst Theatre); Grace Hoylard in Bus Stop (Music Box/Winter Garden Theatres); Mrs. Sally Adams in Call Me Madam (Imperial Theatre); and her one-woman show, Elaine Stritch At Liberty (Neil Simon Theatre).

Television credits include Colleen Donaghy on NBC’s 30 Rock, Martha Albright on NBC’s 3rd Rock from the Sun, Lanie Stieglitz on NBC’s Law & Order, Mrs. McGee on NBC’s The Cosby Show, Dorothy McNab on ITV’s Two’s Company, and Aunt Polly in the BBC miniseries, Pollyanna.
