Jean Smart is an American theatre, television, and film actress. She is best known for Miss Meadows, Youth Revolt, Garden State, and Sweet Home Alabama. Other film credits include The Brady Bunch Movie, Mistress, Protocol, Flashpoint, Fire With Fire, and Project X.

Television credits include Charlene Frazier Stillfield on CBS’ Designing Women, Martha Logan on FOX’s 24, Regina Newly on ABC’s Samantha Who, Governor Pat Jameson on CBS’ Hawaii Five-0, District Attorney Roseanna Remmick on NBC’s Harry’s Law, Floyd Gerhardt on FX’s Fargo, and Detective Sherry Regan on CBS’ The District.

Theatre credits include her Broadway debut as Marlene in Piaf (Plymouth Theatre); and Lorraine Sheldon in The Man Who Came To Dinner (American Airlines Theatre); Off-Broadway, as Nessa in Fit to Be Tied and Helen Lasker-Massey/Lady Hammersmith/Urbaine Supton Stoat in The End Of The Day (Playwrights Horizons); and regionally, as Lil in Last Summer At Bluefish Cove (Actors’ Playhouse).
