Jeffrey Sweet

Jeffrey Sweet is an American writer, journalist, songwriter, and theatre historian. Sweet has also been a playwright, screenwriter, lyricist, critic, teacher, songwriter, and director.

Off-Broadway works include I Sent a Letter to My Love (Primary Stages), American Enterprise (Theatre at St. Clement's Church), The Value of Names (Vineyard Theatre), and The Present Tense (Park Royale Theatre). Regional works include Henry VI: The Falcon's Pitch (Harris Theater), Responsible Parties (Vineyard Theatre), Class Dismissed (Victory Gardens Theater), George's File (Burstein Family Stage), Court-Martial at Fort Devens (Castillo Theatre), Immoral Imperatives (WHAT Harbor Stage), Kunstler (Woodward Hall Theatre), and Porch (Arena Stage).

Sweet is also the author of Something Wonderful Right Away, an oral history of Chicago's Second City Troupe, and The Dramatist's Toolkit, and Solving Your Script, two texts on dramatic writing.
