Tonya Pinkins is an American television, film, and theatre actress and author, best known as Livia Frye Cudahy on ABC’s All My Children, Alama Matobo on FOX’s 24, and Heather Dalton on CBS’ As the World Turns.

Broadway theatre credits include her debut as Gwen Wilson in Merrily We Roll Along (Alvin Theatre); Mrs. Weston in Holler If Ya Hear Me (Palace Theatre); Gwen Hailey in A Time to Kill (John Golden Theatre); Mame Wilks in Radio Golf (Cort Theatre); Caroline Thibodeaux in Caroline, or Change (Eugene O’Neill Theatre); Lady Liv in Play On! (Brooks Atkinson Theatre); Clotilde in Chronicle of a Death Foretold (Plymouth Theatre); and Kate in The Wild Party and her Tony Award-winning role as Anita in Jelly’s Last Jam (Virginia Theatre).

Notable Off-Broadway credits include her Lucille Lortel Award-winning roles, Jaclyn in Rasheeda Speaking (Romulus Linney Courtyard) and Myrna in Milk Like Sugar (Peter Jay Sharp Theatre).
