Melissa Manchester

Melissa Manchester is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She records in contemporary genre; and appears as an actress on television, films, and stage. Manchester’s own status as one of popular American music’s most enduring artists is exceptional both for her longevity and versatility. Her songs have been recorded by Roberta Flack, Dusty Springfield, Alison Krauss, Stevie Nicks, Kenny Loggins, and Barbra Streisand.

As an actress, she played Mandy Russo, the mother of Mayim Bialik’s title character on NBC’s Blossom.

On stage, Melissa starred as MaryAnne in Hats! (Royale George Theatre); the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd (Ahmanson Theatre); and Emma in the National Tour of Song and Dance.

Theater credits include her Broadway compositions, Barbara Cook: A Concert for the Theatre (Ambassador Theatre); Dancin' (Broadhurst/Ambassador Theatres); Off-Broadway, as lyricist and composer, I Sent a Letter to My Love (Primary Stages); and the ballroom dance extravaganza, Fascinating Rhythms (Rubicon Theatre).
