Ruth Goetz was a playwright, adapter, and translator. She frequently collaborated with her husband, playwright Augustus Goetz. Broadway credits include One-Man Show (Ethel Barrymore Theatre), The Heiress (Biltmore Theatre), The Immoralist (Royale Theatre), and The Hidden River (Playhouse Theatre).
Screenplays include The Heiress, Carrie (Sister Carrie), Rhapsody, and Stage Struck.
In addition to his collaborations with his wife, Goetz wrote a series of humorous stories, including Home is Where You Hang Yourself with S.J. Perelman, which was published in The New Yorker.
