Larry Gelbart

Larry Gelbart was an American television writer, playwright, screenwriter, and author, most famous as a creator and producer of the record-breaking hit television show, M*A*S*H*, earning a Peabody Award and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. Other television writing credits include  Red Buttons, Caesar's Hour, and Honestly, Celeste!

Gelbart's best known for his films, Tootsie and Oh, God! Other screenplays include The Wrong Box, Movie MovieBlame It on RioBedazzledRough Cut, Barbarians at the GateWeapons of Mass Distraction, and And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself.

Broadway musical credits include his debut, The Conquering Hero (ANTA Playhouse), City of Angels (Virginia Theatre), Jerome Robbins' Broadway (Imperial Theatre), and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Alvin/Mark Hellinger/Majestic Theatres). Other Broadway credits include Mastergate (Criterion Center Stage) and Sly Fox (Broadhurst Theatre).
