Hugh Whitemore is an English playwright and screenwriter, best known for his televised plays on BBC’s The Wednesday Play, ITV’s Armchair Theatre, and BBC’s Play for Today. Television miniseries credits include BBC’s My Cousin Rachel, BBC’s David Copperfield, BBC’s Shoulder to Shoulder, BBC’s Fall of Eagles, BBC’s The Shadow of the Tower, and BBC’s Elizabeth R.

Theatre credits include his Broadway produced works Breaking the Code (Neil Simon Theatre) and Pack of Lies (Royale Theatre); his Off-Broadway produced work The Best of Friends (Westside Theatre); and his London As You Desire Me (Capitol Theatre), Disposing of the Body (Hampstead Theatre), God Only Knows (Malvern Theatre), A Letter of Resignation (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre), and My Darling Clemmie (Tower Arts Centre).
