David Hirson

David Hirson is an American dramatist, best known for his comedies Wrong Mountain and La Bête, for which he won John Gassner Award, New York Newsday/George Oppenheimer Award, Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy of the Year, and the Marton Prize of the Dramatists Guild (Eugene O'Neill Theatre).

Produced on Broadway and internationally, his plays have received multiple Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations. Translations of his works include a verse adaption of La Bête that was produced in Paris and published in France by Monelle Hayot.

Hirson's plays are published by Grove Press in the volume La Bête and Wrong Mountain, and in acting editions of Dramatists Play Service and Samuel French, Inc.
