Augustus Goetz was a playwright, adapter, and translator. He frequently collaborated with his wife, playwright Ruth Goetz. Broadway credits include One-Man Show (Ethel Barrymore Theatre), The Heiress (Biltmore Theatre), The Immoralist (Royale Theatre), and The Hidden River (Playhouse Theatre).
Screenplays include The Heiress, Carrie (Sister Carrie), Rhapsody, and Stage Struck.
In addition to his collaborations with his wife, Goetz wrote a series of humorous stories, including Home is Where You Hang Yourself with S.J. Perelman, which was published in The New Yorker.
