Uyoata Udi also known as Akpa Mr. Akwa Ibom State, USA, is a Nigerian-American actor currently known for his role as ‘Inspectah Deck’ on Hulu’s Wu Tang: An American Saga. He has also made appearances on NBC’s Emmy-Nominated hit series This is Us and HBO’s Emmy-Winning limited series Watchmen.

Originally from Los Angeles, Uyoata hails from a family filled with performers and artists. He began performing at the age of three in his mother’s dance troupe, Akwa Ibom National Ensemble. He was accepted to the prestigious Alexander Hamilton HighSchool of the Performing Arts where he immersed himself in the craft of acting, singing, and dance, mentored by Karen McDonald.

He received a full ride scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Uyoata was the only Nigerian cast member in thethree-time Tony Award winning musical FELA! and graduated from the University of the Arts all while performing in the Broadway show Amazing Grace: The Musical. He performed for former President Obama and his family at the White House.
