Tyne Daly

Tyne Daly is an American stage and screen actress, winning six Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. She is also an American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee. Tyne is best known as Maxine Gray on CBS’ Judging Amy and Mary Beth Lacey on CBS’ Cagney & Lacey, a role in which Tyne reprised in four telefilms that take place six years after the series finale.

Film credits include Larry, The Entertainer, Faces of a Stranger, Christy, A Piece of Eden, and Hello, My Name is Doris.

Broadway credits include her debut as Josie in That Summer—That Fall (Helen Hayes Theatre); Judy Steinberg in It Shoulda Been You (Brooks Atkinson Theatre); Katharine Gerard in Mothers and Sons (John Goldman Theatre); Maria Callas in Master Class (Samuel J. Friedman Theatre); Nat in Rabbit Hole (Biltmore Theatre); Madame Arkadina in The Seagull (Lyceum Theatre); and Rose in Gypsy (St. James/Marquis Theatres).
