Summer Spiro was born into a family of musicians in Southern California. She forewent a traditional college education to pursue an unconventional creative life, working in the theatre, collaborating with playwrights on world premieres in various regional theatres and national tours. Crossing over to film, she plays tenacious leading roles in independent feature films including the upcoming thriller Alone starring alongside Tyler Posey and Donald Sutherland. Finding fluidity between mediums, Summer works as a filmmaker, editing dozens of award winning short films premiering at Tribeca Film Festival, Holly Shorts, & others.
