Roy Zimmerman

Roy Zimmerman is an American satirical singer-songwriter and guitarist whose self-proclaimed leftist-slanted commentary is primarily focused on social issues and politics. He is best known for his one-man show, Live From the Starving Ear, his homage to San Francisco’s legendary nightclub, The hungry i.

This stage show is ninety minutes of original satirical songs—original songs about class warfare, creationism, same-sex marriage, guns, marijuana, abstinence, Republicans, ignorance, war, and greed.

His songs have also been heard on HBO and Showtime, and he has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records. Thom Hartmann, Stephanie Miller, and Bill Press often play Roy’s songs on progressive radio. His up-to-the-moment topical songs are spun regularly by folk music DJ's across the country and he's a frequent guest on Sirius Radio's syndicated show, West Coast Live.

Roy is also a featured blogger for the Huffington Post.
