Rick Podell

Rick Podell has starred in over ten Broadway shows including playing opposite Glenn Close in the original production of the Tony Award-winning musical Sunset Boulevard and as the original narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Other Broadway credits include Evita, Company and Piaf. As a director, he staged Nick Ullet’s play Gullet Without the G and as writer he wrote the Broadway musical A Matter of Time.

Rick’s career in television began when Grant Tinker put him under contract at MTM Productions where he wrote, directed and produced a number of pilots and series for CBS, NBC and ABC.

In films, while starring opposite Anne Archer and John Ritter in the movie Hero at Large, Rick wrote the box office hit Nothing in Common, starring Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason.
