Philip Casnoff is an American television, film, and theatre actor, known as Chief of Staff Dr. Robert Jackson on Lifetime’s Strong Medicine and Nikolai Stanislofsky on HBO’s Oz. Other television credits include Jack Chambers on NBC’s Sisters and Major Elkanah Bent on the ABC miniseries, North And South/Book II/Heaven and Hell: Book III.

Film credits include Ted 2, Sight Unseen, Field of Vision, Mineville, For All Time, and Sinatra.

Theatre credits include his Broadway debut as Teen Angel in Grease (Royale Theatre), Billy Flynn in Chicago (Richard Rodgers/Shubert/Ambassador Theatres), John Blackthorne in Shogun the Musical (Marquis Theatre); Richard Dudgeon in The Devil’s Disciple (Circle in the Square Theatre); Hamlet/Laertes in Rockabye Hamlet (Minskoff Theatre); and his Theatre World Award-winning role as Freddie in Chess (Imperial Theatre); and Off-Broadway, as Ian McTurk in Up Against It and John in Mary Stuart (LuEsther Hall) and Poins in Henry IV Part 1 (Delacorte Theatre).
