Miriam Margolyes is an English-Australian actress and voice artist, best known as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter film series, her BAFTA Award-winning role, Mrs. Mingott in The Age of Innocence, and her LADCC Award-winning role, Flora Finching in Little Dorrit. Other film credits include Yentl, Little Shop of Horrors, End of Days, Sunshine, Cold Comfort Farm, Cats & Dogs, and Magnolia.

Television miniseries credits include BBC's Vanity Fair, LPP's Supply & Demand, LWT's A Little Princess, BBC's Oliver Twist, BBC's Freud, BBC's The History Man, and BBC's The Lost Tribe. Other television credits include ECP's Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, BSkyB's Trollied, and BBC's Magic Grandad.

Broadway theatre credits include her debut as Madame Morrible in Wicked (Gershwin Theatre). Other theatre credits include Miss Laetitia Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest (Theatre Royal Bath), Philaminte in The Learned Ladies (Williamstown Theatre), and her world traveling one-woman show, Dickens' Women.
