Michael York is a stage television and film actor, best known for his film roles as Basil in the Austin Powers Trilogy and Stone Alexander in The Omega Code series. His more than sixty films include Romeo and Juliet, Cabaret, The Three Musketeers, Logan's Run, Accident, Murder on the Orient Express, and The Island of Dr. Moreau.
His Emmy-nominated television work encompasses roles from The Forsyte Saga, Jesus of Nazareth and Great Expectations to Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Simpsons.
Broadway credits include his debut as Felice in Out Cry (Lyceum Theatre); Michael in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me (Booth Theatre), Max in Bent (New Apollo Theatre), and Reverend John Hale in The Crucible (Belasco Theatre).
Besides the autobiography, Accidentally on Purpose, Michael has written A Shakespearean Actor Prepares and Are My Blinkers Showing? Awarded Britain's OBE, France's Arts et Lettres—and, not least, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
