Michael McCarthy is an Irish musical theatre performer and actor, best known for his many musical stage roles. Theatre credits include his Broadway debut as Inspector Javert in Les Misérables (Broadway/Imperial Theatres); and Off-Broadway, as Otta in Judith, Soldier/Pleasant/Servant in War and Peace, and Duval/Policeman in Man and Superman (Phoenix Theatre).

Musical stage roles have included Max in Cabaret, Sir Lancelot in Camelot, Thomas Inkle in Inkle and Yarico, the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera, Ivan Molokov in Chess, and Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He has also performed in operas, such as Rigoletto and dramatic roles including, Marco in A View from the Bridge and Laurie in Little Women.
