Linda Purl is an American actress and singer, perhaps best known for portraying Ashley Pfister, Fonzie’s fiancée, on ABC’s Happy Days, Helene Beasley on NBC’s The Office, and Ben Matlock's daughter, Charlene Matlock, on NBC’s/ABC’s Matlock. Other television credits include Elizabeth Gaines on Showtime’s Homeland, Barbara Pelt on HBO’s True Blood, and Nydia in the ABC miniseries, The Last Days of Pompeii.
Theatre credits include her Broadway debut as Victoria Phillips in Getting and Spending (Helen Hayes Theatre) and Aunt Polly in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Minskoff Theatre); Off-Broadway, as Wanda in The Baby Dance (Lucille Lortel Theatre); and regionally, as Joan Didion in The Year of Magical Thinking (Laguna Playhouse), Amanda Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (Drury Theatre), Karen in Dinner with Friends (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Elsa Barlow in The Road To Mecca (Long Wharf Theatre), and Barbara Webster in Johnny on a Spot (Williamstown Theatre).
