Lesley Nicol

Lesley Nicol has enjoyed a diverse career in the United Kingdom and more recently in the United States. She started in West End musicals including the original production of Jesus Christ Superstar, as Rosie in Mamma Mia, and as Kath in the musical, Our House—the Madness.

Apart from musicals, she has been in productions across the United Kingdom—a favourite being East is East, where she created the role of Auntie Annie, which she later reprised in the film (Royal Court Theatre).

Her international television career has included the beloved Mrs. Patmore in Downton Abbey; the British shows Shameless, Blackadder, Dinnerladies, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Inspector George Gently; and guest roles in Once Upon a Time, Raising Hope, Hot in Cleveland, and Supernatural.

Voice work includes regular radio dramas for the BBC, the animated film Free Birds, the television show Doc McStuffins, and Disney's Goldie and Bear.
