Kevin McCarthy was an American stage, film, and television actor, best known for the original and remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, UHF, Innerspace, and Death of A Salesman. Other film credits include Loving Annabelle, Slipstream, The Howling, Hotel, The Three Sisters, Mirage, The Best Man, The Prize, An Affair of the Skin, and The Misfits.

Broadway credits include his debut role as Jasp/Phil in Abe Lincoln in Illinois (Plymouth Theatre); George Butler in Alone Together (Music Box Theatre); First Actor in Poor Murderer (Ethel Barrymore Theatre); Harold Ryan in Happy Birthday, Wanda Jane (Edison Theatre); Julian in Cactus Flower (Royal/Longacre Theatres); Vershinin in The Three Sisters and Frederick Page in The Deep Blue Sea (Morosco Theatre); Van Ackerman in Advise and Content (Cort Theatre); Long in Joan of Lorraine (Alvin Theatre); Ronny Meade in Winged Victory (44th Street Theatre); and Richard Banning in Flight to the West (Guild/Royale Theatres).
