John Lithgow is an American actor, musician, singer, and author. He has received many accolades in his career including five Emmy, two Golden Globe, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as an American Comedy Award. John also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into American Theater Hall of Fame.

Television credits include Dr. Dick Solomon on NBC’s 3rd Rock From the Sun, Jerry Whitaker on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, and Arthur Mitchell on Showtime’s Dexter.

Film credits include Interstellar, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Shrek, Footloose, Terms of Endearment, and The World According to Garp.

Notable Broadway credits include his debut as ‘Kenny’ Kendal in The Changing Room (Morosco Theatre) and J.J. Hunsecker in The Sweet Smell of Success (Martin Beck Theatre), winning Tony and Drama Desk Awards for both roles.
