Gascoine, Jill

Jill Gascoine was a British actress and novelist, best known as Detective Inspector Maggie Forbes on ITV's The Gentle Touch, and its spinoff series, ITV's C.A.T.S. Eyes. Other television credits include Helene de Valette on the BBC miniseries, Prometheus: The Life of Balzac; Letty Onedin/Letty Gaunt on BBC's The Onedin Line; Ruth Harris on ITV's Rooms; and Miss Owen on ITV's Six Days of Justice.

West End theatre credits include The Glory of the Garden (Duke of York's Theatre); Vera in Pal Joey and Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street (Theatre Royal); and Candida Morel in Candida (Ashcroft Theatre). As a member of Circus Theatricals, appearances include Lilith in The Circus Theatricals Festival of One Act Plays and Mary in Sister Cities (Hayworth Studio Theatre) and Lyubov Andreyevna Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard, Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, and Gertrude in Hamlet (Odyssey Theatre).
