Jane Kaczmarek is an American actress, best known as Lois on FOX’s Emmy Award-winning comedy, Malcolm in the Middle, winning several awards, which include two consecutive Television Critic Association Awards for Individual Achievement in Comedy, the first woman to ever receive such an honor.
Film credits include Reviving Ophelia, Who Gets the Parents, Pleasantville, Without Warning, Spooner, The Three Kings, The Christmas Gift, and Something About Amelia.
Theatre credits include her Broadway debut as Bella in Lost In Yonkers (Richard Rodgers Theatre); Off-Broadway, as June/Grace/Vera in Ice Cream with Hot Fudge (Newman Theatre), Susan in Loose Ends (McGinn-Cazale Theatre), Diane Newburry in The Hands of its Enemy and Helga in Kindertransport, for which she received an Ovation Award (Manhattan Theatre Club); and regionally, as Margie Welsh in Good People (Geffen Playhouse), Nina Denery in The Autumn Garden (Antaeus Theatre), and Antigone in The Legend of Oedipus (Williamstown Theatre).
