James Gammon

James Gammon was an actor, best known for Cold Mountain, Major League, and The Iron Giant. Other film credits include Convict, Appaloosa, Love from Ground Zero, The Apostle, Natural Born Killers, Painted Desert, The Milagro Beanfield War, Ironweed, Silverado, On the Nickel, Macon County Line, A Man Called Horse, and Cool Hand Luke.

Television credits include Nick Bridges on CBS’ Nash Bridges, Coach Zelnick on ABC’s Homefront, and Zack Rosswell on CBS’ The Waltons.

Theatre credits include his Broadway debut as Dodge in Buried Child (Brooks Atkinson Theatre); Off-Broadway, as Coach in That Championship Season (2nd Stage Theatre), Simms in Simpatico and Weston in Curse of the Starving Class (Newman Theatre), and Baylor in A Lie of the Mind (Promenade Theatre); and regionally, as King Lear in The Tragedy of King Lear and Dr. Gerald Lyman in Bust Stop (MET Theatre).
