Elisa Bocanegra was most recently seen in SPILL for L.A. Theatre Works. She starred in The Happiest Song Plays Last by Pulitzer-winning writer Quiara Alegria Hudes which was part of the Elliot Trilogy, a partnership with Center Theatre Group and the Latino Theater Company. She also appeared in Between Riverside and Crazy for L.A Theatre Works. Elisa received critical acclaim for her performance in Hero Theatre's production of The Conduct of Life by Maria Irene Fornés. Her NY credits include: The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore w/ Olympia Dukakis at Roundabout Theatre Company, Song for New York at Mabou Mines, Adventures of Barrio Grrll at SPP. Regional credits include: The Goodman Theatre and South Coast Repertory's production of Destiny of Desire. Also at SCR: The Motherf**ker with the Hat and California Scenarios. Oregon Shakespeare Festival's productions of Servant of Two Masters, Paradise Lost, and Much Ado About Nothing. Electricidad at the Center Theatre Group, Love's Labor's Lost at the Huntington Theatre Company, Camino Real w/ Ethan Hawke at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Elisa was part of the development of Like Water for Chocolate, the musical at the Sundance Theatre Lab. Film and television credits include: Easy to Assemble with Illeana Douglas and Jeff Goldblum, El Superstar (produced by Norman Lear and George Lopez), Sundance-winner Girlfight, Spun Undeclared  by Judd Apatow, and Gilmore Girls. She is artistic director of Hero Theatre, which she founded with the help of her mentor Olympia Dukakis, www.herotheatre.org
