Darci Picoult

Darci Picoult is an American screenwriter and Award-winning playwright. She is the recipient of the National Theater Conference's Paul Green Foundation Award for her theatrical work.

Her one-woman show, My Virginia, was presented in theatres and solo festivals both nationally and internationally, including the N.Y. Theatre Workshop, Ensemble Studio, Women Center Stage Festival, Cinnabar Theater's Solo Mio Festival, and the Philadelphia Women's Theatre Festival.

Other works include Lil's 90th, which brings a new twist to the dysfunctional American family (Long Wharf Theatre) and Jayson With a Y, which centers on two sisters in the midst of major changes in their lives, as they are forced to decide who will care for their suddenly orphaned nephew, Jayson, who has Asperger's Syndrome (Lions Theatre).

Her screenplay, Mother of George, tells the story of a newly married Nigerian couple in Brooklyn who own and manage a small restaurant while struggling with fertility issues.
