Charles Durning

Charles Durning was an American actor, known for Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Hudsucker Proxy, Tootsie, and The Sting. Other film credits include The Muppet Movie, Dog Day Afternoon, and Sisters. Charles was a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and SAG Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.

Television credits include his Golden Globe Award-winning performance as John 'Honey Fitz' Fitzgerald in ABC’s miniseries The Kennedys of Massachusetts, Michael Galvin on FX's Rescue Me, and Dr. Harlan Elldridge on CBS' Evening Shade.

Broadway credits include his debut as Phillippe/Jesuit Father/Others in Poor Bitos (Cort Theatre); Ex-President Arthur Hockstader in The Best Man (Virginia Theatre); Weller Martin in The Gin Game (Lyceum Theatre); Cohn in Knock Knock (Biltmore Theatre); George Sikowski in That Championship Season (Booth Theatre); Louis Bonnard in The Happy Time (Broadway Theatre); and his Tony Award-winning performance as Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Eugene O’Neill Theatre).
