
Arthur Giron is an established and widely admired American playwright. He is a founding member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York, a theatre company dedicated to the production of new plays. He has also written a number of screenplays and librettos.
Theatre works include his Broadway debut Amazing Grace (Nederlander Theatre); Off-Broadway plays Edith Stein (Jewish Repertory Theatre) and Becoming Memories (South Street Theatre); and regional plays Innocent Pleasures and The Exhibitionist, a Farce (Ensemble Studio), Love and Murder and Campus Security (New Jersey Repertory), Moving Bodies (Marin Theatre), Flight and A Dream of Wealth (Lamb's Players Theatre), and Charlie Bacon and His Family (Ark Theatre).
His work has won numerous awards and honors, including the LADCC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Writing and the Galileo Prize. In addition, he has been awarded commissions from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Metropolitan Opera Guild, and the N.Y. Shakespeare Festival.
