Alma Martinez is delighted to return to L.A. Theatre Works having performed in Zoot Suit, Anna in the Tropics, McTeague, and Questa. A stage, film and television actor, on screen she is best known for Cake, Zoot Suit, Barbarosa, Under Fire, Born in East L.A. and the 2019 Sundance “Grant Jury Award” winning film, Clemency. TV credits include recurring Guest-Star turns on The Bridge (FX, Peabody Award, Season 1), Undone (Amazon), and the hit show Gentefied (Netflix). Theatre credits include In the Summer House (Broadway), Green Card (Off Broadway) and regionally Zoot Suit, Electricidad, Bocón (CTG/Mark Taper Forum), Fuente Ovejuna, Savages (Berkeley Rep), Burning Patience, Mummified Deer, Man of the Flesh (San Diego Rep), Macbeth, Skin of Our Teeth (Oregon Shakes), The Seagull (Santa Cruz Shakes), Sons of Don Juan (Asolo Theatre), and Just Like Us (Denver Theatre). Dr. Martinez is an Associate Professor of Theatre at the University of La Verne. She holds a Ph.D. in Drama from Stanford University, an M.F.A. in Acting from USC, a BA in Theatre from Whittier College and is a proud member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, SAG AFTRA, AEA, and SDC.
