Theatre credits include his Broadway debut as Davies in The Caretaker (Circle in the Square Theatre), Scanlon in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Royale Theatre), Anthony Dent/Others in The Song of Jacob Zulu (Plymouth Theatre), and Muley Graves/Floyd Knowles in The Grapes of Wrath (Cort Theatre) and regionally, as Abe in The Fundamentals, Andy in Mary Page Marlowe, Dr. Murphy/Mr. Bacon in John Steinbeck's East of Eden, Sheep in Marie Antoinette, Tommy/Maurice in The Night Alive, Misha in Russian Transport, John Jameson in The March, Charles Parker/Others in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and Judge Taylor/Others in To Kill a Mockingbird (Steppenwolf Theatre).
