June Angela received Broadway’s Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations as Best Leading Actress for Shogun and starred opposite Danny Glover in the two character play Yohen at East West Players. She’s the family psychic ‘Madame Xing’ on Fresh Off the Boat, and was a regular as Pat Morita’s daughter on Mr. T and Tina, the first Asian American sitcom. She was also a regular with Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno on the TV series, The Electric Company, for which she won an Emmy and Grammy Award. Theatre credits include co-starring as ‘Tuptim’ in the Broadway and London Palladium original revival of The King and I with Yul Brynner, starring in works at Lincoln Center, among others. She was honored for her work by Off-Broadway’s Pan Asian Repertory Theater and won a Theater Guild Award as Best Actress for Tea. She has recorded over 30 audiobooks for Audible and has done 5 plays for LATW including Leocadia in which she was British.
