John Logan

John Logan is an American playwright, screenwriter, film producer, and television producer. His play Red, about artist Mark Rothko, received six Tony Awards, the most of any play, including Best Play (John Golden Theatre). Other Broadway successes include The Last Ship (Neil Simon Theatre) and I'll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers (Booth Theatre).

His first play, Never the Sinner, tells the story of the infamous Leopold and Loeb case (John Houseman Theatre). Subsequent plays include Hauptmann, about the Lindbergh baby kidnapping (TimeLine Theatre), and Riverview: A Melodrama with Music, set at Chicago's famed amusement park (Goodman Theatre).

Logan co-wrote the Academy Award winning film, Gladiator, and received a nomination for writing The Aviator. Other notable films include Any Given Sunday, RKO 281, Star Trek: Nemesis, The Time Machine, The Last Samurai, and the Golden Globe Award-winning musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
