Deborah Zoe Laufer

Deborah Zoe Laufer is an American playwright. Her plays have been produced at Steppenwolf Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Geva Theatre Center, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, Portland Stage, as well as in Germany, Russia, and Canada.

Off-Broadway works include Informed Consent (Duke on 42nd Street). Regional works include Leveling Up (Eugene O'Neill Theater), Sirens and Brink! (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Evolution (Carnival Studio Theater), Fortune (Marin Theatre), The Gulf of Westchester and The Last Schwartz (Florida Stage), and Out of Sterno (Cherry Lane Theatre).

Her play, End Days, was awarded the American Theatre Critics Association Steinberg Citation and later, was able to continue running through the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Grant (Florida Stage).

Notable awards include the Helen Merrill Playwriting Award and a Lilly Award. She is also a two-time recipient of the LeCompte du Nouy Award from the Lincoln Center Foundation.
