Michael Hollinger is an American violist-turned-playwright. His Off-Broadway works include Opus (59E59 Theater) and An Empty Plate in the Cafe du Grand Boeuf (Primary Stages). Regional works include Sing the Body Electric (City Theatre), Under the Skin, Tooth and Claw, and Ghost-Writer (Arden Theatre), Hope and Gravity (Philadelphia Theatre), Ups and Downs, Senior Moment, and Truth Decay (Theatre Exile), Naked Lunch (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Red Herring and Incorruptible (Florida Stage), Tiny Island (Next Theatre), and Statues (InterAct Theatre).

He has written three short films for PBS and co-authored the feature-length, Philadelphia Diary. He received the Roger L. Stevens Award, three Barrymore Awards for Outstanding New Play, Drama Critics Circle Award, an F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Theatre Artist, and a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award.
