Larry Yando

Larry Yando is an actor, best known as Scar in The Lion King (Walt Disney Theatrical Productions). A Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship recipient, honors also include Chicago Magazine’s Best Actor and DePaul University’s Excellence in the Arts Award.

JEFF Award-winning roles include Molina in Kiss of the Spider Woman (Pegasus Theatre), Pangloss in Candide (Goodman Theatre), Roy Cohn in both Angels in America: Perestroika and Angels in America: Millennium Approaches (Court Theatre), and Edgar in The Death of the Dance (Writers’ Theatre).

JEFF Award-nominated performances include Benjamin Hubbard in The Little Foxes and Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (Goodman Theatre), Lear in King Lear and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Jacques in As You Like It and Richard M. Nixon in Nixon’s Nixon (Writers’ Theatre), and a Crooked Actor in Big River, Albin in La Cage Aux Folles and Charlie/Vittorio Vidal/Oscar Lindquist in Sweet Charity (Marriott Theatre).
