Douglas Post

Douglas Post is an American playwright and screenwriter, best known for his Off-Broadway play Earth and Sky (McGinn-Cazale Theatre). Regional works include Bloodshot (Watermill Theatre), Comden Mall Community Activists, Cynical Weathers, Drowning Sorrows, Blissfield, and God and Country (Victory Gardens Theater), Murder in Green Meadows (Citadel Theatre), Somebody Foreign (Stage Left Theatre), The Real Life Story of Johnny de Facto (John Houseman Theatre), The Wind in the Willows (Lamb’s Players Theatre), Somebody Foreign (City Lit Theater), Personal Effects (Circle Theatre), Suffering Fools (Commons Theatre), and Detective Sketches and Belongings and Longings (Organic Lab Theater).

Post has been commissioned to write screenplays for Warner Brothers and NBC, teleplays for WMAQ-TV, radio adaptations of his scripts, and to develop his work at the O'Neill National Playwrights and O'Neill National Music Theater Conferences. He has received L. Arnold Weissberger Playwriting, Midwestern Playwrights Festival, Cunningham Commission, Blue Ink Playwriting, and three Playwriting Fellowship Awards.
